The Brazilian Goverment charges 50% of anything you purchased and goes over US$500. Lets say all that you have combine has amounted to US$2000, you'll pay 50% of US$1500.That is if you opt to declare to the authorities that you have these Items, if you do not and they find out by searching your luggage you will pay the same amount plus the fine for not telling them. Check with the Brazilian Embassy on the fine amounts and taxes. They change the fine amounts during Christmas time, a lot of people bringing gifts. What I do when I go there ,I pretend that these are my items, but you have to be descreet, do not take more then one item of the same thing, remove the packaging. If you take more than one laptop (for example) say one is yours and pay the tax on the other. but they really don't like if you hide things. so if they search your things they will find it. you can play dumb and then pay the fines but don't play games or lie, you could end up missing a flight or something stupid. just use your common sense, be low key, and make sure you make the stuff look like it is really yours. Good luck!!
