Can you take gaming consoles to a plane as carry on

Can you take gaming consoles to a plane as carry on?
Im moving from United States to Brazil and I was wondering if I could bring my Xbox 360 and my laptop both on my carry on luggage wrapped in foam bc of 2 things 1-I dont trust baggage handlers bc of steal or mishandle 2-I dont trust shipping service in Brazil (will ship from U.S. and once in Brazil the Brazilian shipping company workers steal it) I dont know what plane Ill be going yet but I did do some research on the internet abut this and its all ranging from 2001-2009 and I was wondering if its still legal to bring a gaming console on your carry in luggage all wrapped up along with the laptop??? and yes Im well aware that games from Brazil wont work bc of region codes but thats why there's Ebay (PS Xbox 360 in Brazil is close to a grand so this is why im so itchy about this) and will they tell me to take them out of the bag? bc if so I wont even wrap them in foam. Also heard that you cant bring hair gels/colognes but can you take it as checked luggage items? that goes in the plane's Cargo? Thanks a lot guys. Airport's regulations have become really itchy about everything. Im sad enough I can't take my 4,000.00 guitar =[ unless i buy a seat for it which is just stupid Thx Bob but can you be more specific bc I asked multiple questions.... Laptop, Xbox, cologne, hair gel.... carry on or checked luggage.... wasn't helpful but thanks keagan - Thx for the info i really appreciate it and yes Im from Sao Paulo too e sim eu falo portugues mto bem. denovo mto obrigado! abracos Maple - Thx for that I heard about the zip lock bags thx for reminding me ill be sure to do that

No
Answer 2 :
Yes, it is legal to bring your Xbox as a carry-on. I have taken my Xbox as a carry on many times and I have never had a problem. Yes, hair gels/colognes are recommended to be put in your checked luggage, which goes in the plane's cargo hold. Good luck in Brasil. My mother is from Sao Paulo. Boa sorte! I hope you can speak Portuguese!
Answer 3 :
Yes you can take it the hair gel and cologne needs to be in zip lock bags. See http://www.tsa.gov/ for guidelines.
Answer 4 :
As long as your laptop and x-Box along with your other carry on items are within you airline's carry on allowance, it's fine to bring both your laptop and x-Box as carry on luggage. Both of the items do need to be removed at the security checkpoint and placed into separate bins for x-ray. All of your hair gel, cologne, etc. must be 3.4 oz. or less and place in one clear quart sized plastic bag. Anything larger than 3.4 oz. or more than what will fit into the one quart sized bag must go into your check in luggage. You can read about the TSA's rules for x-box's here (scroll down): http://www.tsa.gov/travelers/sop/index.shtm and liquids here: http://www.tsa.gov/311

Electronic devices in International flights

Electronic devices in International flights.?
Hello. I'm from Brazil and I'm leaving in the USA for one year. Since I was studying here I ended up buying a Laptop, an iPod touch, and an iPad 2. I also bought an extra iPod touch as a present for a relative in Brazil. I'm going to Brazil next week, and I'd like to know what I should do in order not to have to pay taxes or even have any or my stuff taken away from me. What do you think would be the best action to take?

Going away to South America for two months - should I take my laptop or not

Going away to South America for two months - should I take my laptop or not?
Travelling into Venezuela for one day, then staying in Colombia, will probably go through Brazil but only to get to Bolivia. I am just wondering if I should take my laptop or not. I'm backpacking. Would you? I guess I'm worried about having to constantly worry about it if I take it. When I went there last month I took a cheap watch and camera for fear of being mugged. I could do without the hassle, but I needed to be able to access my online banking and also to a lesser extent my emails.

No too much bother having to carry it and worry about it. Your better off just getting internet acess in a public place when you need it!
Answer 2 :
it depends if you you like the laptop that much if you do what the heck bring it if you don't just leave it
Answer 3 :
My policy when backpacking is to never take anything I can't afford to lose. I don't want to stress about leaving it my hostel, or worry whether someone will swipe my bag at the bus depot. Is it really necessary to your happiness? Will it add to your travel experience or will it distract you? Will you be spending all your time on Facebook rather than learning Spanish and experiencing the amazing things South America has to offer? Internet cafes are plentiful and these days most hostels have internet as do many libraries, etc and it's either free or cheap. Personally I wouldn't take it but that's just me. I don't even take my iPod because I want to live in the moment when I'm travelling and for me that includes the sounds around me. Besides, it's extra weight and do you really want to drag around unnecessary weight? I try to keep my pack under 10 kg. Whatever you decide to do, have a blast!
Answer 4 :
in colombia you can get a comcel mobile with the whachamacallit for the computer, with sim card for 1 wk costs about $50 then you can renew your subscription, I haven't renewed it yet so I don't know how much for now

Sudden noise in skype conference call

Sudden noise in skype conference call.?
Whenever I talk to my friends in Brazil from Michigan doing a skype conference call, which we do all the time, my friends now complain of a sudden annoying noise that comes and goes in the call, and comes from me somehow. Since that started I've gotten a new laptop, microphone (for other reasons) and a newer version of Skype but the noise continues. Any suggestions?

not sure what kinda noise you're talking about. the common one is if you have other electronic turned on ie radio that will cause interference. if you have the volume up too high that can cause it. if you have a new laptop it comes with built in mic so if you attach another mic that could cause interference
