New laptop, i3 vs i5? School/gaming laptop

New laptop, i3 vs i5? School/gaming laptop?
I might buy my school laptop tomorrow already and I've always liked Sony so I want a Sony vaio, an i3 processor 4GB memory 640GB hard drive 15.5 inch screen Is going for 600$ which wud be in my budget another vaio exactly the same except for 14 inch screen and i5 instead of i3 going for around 730$ is there a huge difference ? I'd use it for school work, some Internet surfing like the usual, facebook YouTube etc... And some gaming, a game I like a lot is Ragnarok ( brazil version ) for those who don't know it it's pretty much a WoW with worse graphics, and maybe a few other minor games, would the i3 to i5 make such a difference ? Thanks :)

Answer 1 :
a very small difference,i3 is a very good cpu,but for only 130$ more,buy the i5:)
Answer 2 :
well for ragnarok, just go for i3
Answer 3 :
With processers u should see what speed they are in terms of GHz: eg: An i5 2.1 Ghz processer and An i3 2.93 GHz processor would be about the same but the new I processer are smarter and are much better with multi tasking and more programme they can handle much more, so u would want the higher number so i5 just make sure u have enough RAM and Hard Drive to help the processer as they all work together with read and write speeds........ Also u r gaming so a bigger screen would be much better. The price difference would probably be the ages of models, newer model will be more Hope it helps ;) :D
Answer 4 :
Harpz S...please don't post if you don't know anything about processors... The i3 processor would be sufficient to run you game and do schoolwork. However I also reccomend the AMD bobcat processor, or AMD fusion to run your game better and it will still have the processing power that you'll need to do schoolwork.
Answer 5 :
they'll both be zippy!
Answer 6 :
Graphics card is so much more important than the processor when it comes down to gaming. Try this laptop recommender: http://laptoprec.com
Answer 7 :
Difference between Core i3, Core i5 and Core i7 Intel will stop selling Core 2 Duo and Core 2 Quad in 2010. Core is the new range of Intel processors. Core i3: * Entry level processor. * 2-4 Cores * 4 Threads * Hyper-Threading (efficient use of processor resources) * 3-4 MB Catche * 32 nm Silicon (less heat and energy) Core i5: * Mid range processor. * 2-4 Cores * 4 Threads * Turbo Mode (turn off core if not used) * Hyper-Threading (efficient use of processor resources) * 3-8 MB Catche * 32-45 nm Silicon (less heat and energy)

My best friend

My best friend...?
He lives a very lucky life. His family are very rich. My family aren't poor but no where as wealthy as his family. The thing is, he is kind of ungrateful. His parents are still together, he goes on heaps of hoildays (to Brazil, Rarotonga, Australia etc), he gets his own laptop PSP etc etc. I wouldn't say i'm jealous because I have many material items aswell. The thing is that I am really grateful for what I have. He complains about things he has a lot. Also he makes fun of people lower class than him (which sometimes includes me) I'm 17 1/2 and he's 18 1/2. We live a 2hour plane trip from each other. How can I show him that we are both very lucky? I love him. He's my best friend. I don't have to explain to you or anyone else. I don't always complain about him. I don't want people to see him as spoiled or selfish

Answer 1 :
Next time he's making comments, tell him he's lucky to have a friend as good as you. Because you put up with a spoilt brat. And not many people would.
Answer 2 :
What makes him your best friend? Sounds like you just complain about him.
Answer 3 :
I doubt you can show him, he will have to figure it out for himself. But then again maybe he isn't as lucky as you, because you know what you have and he doesn't. I like to say that I see a lot of parents have worked so hard to give their kids everything they didn't have, and in doing so take away some of the things they prize so much. Like the value of knowing you did a good job. Knowing the value of good friends that are with you because they like you not the toys you have. My sister got spoiled rotten, and to this day because her having the only kid my parents still spoil her, but I wouldn't want to be in her shoes for anything. She works at dead end jobs because she has never applied herself to learn anything. She lives in my parent's second house on almost no rent, and she wanted them to babysit her kid, and then she complains "they are always here", when they are there to baby sit or fix up the house. Sometimes we pay for our "free" gifts in different ways

Fix my feedback on audacity

Fix my feedback on audacity?
Me and my friends made a song and I'm vocals. The only problem is, I'm in Brazil and they are in the states. We both are using ausacity and his always works out fine but when I try and record my vocals I get major feedback. I only have a computer mic and an old laptop with no built in mic. Any ideas on how to minimize the feedback?

Answer 1 :
First, you should make sure that your wireless catcher is enabled (that it is on and receiving signal). Next, you go to your start menu (on the right side - the area under your User Picture). Under "Computer" and "Network" should be "Connect To" if you are using the Vista Startmenu. Click that, choose your network, press connect, type in your password (if any), and you're set. If you don't have the "Connect To" selection, go to your Control Panel. ==In the "Control Panel Home" View, go to the "Network and Internet" section, then select "Network and Sharing Center." ==In the "Classic" View, go to "Network and Sharing Center." -You should see "Connect to a network." Click that, choose your network, press connect, type in your password (if any), and you're set. Or even more simply, go to your taskbar. On the bottom right, next to your clock, you should see Two computers flashing (your connection status). Click on that and choose "Connect to a network." Choose your network, press connect, type in your password (if any), and you're set. Edit: You can check if the airport you're going to provides Wireless Internet here http://www.travelpost.com/airport-wireless-internet.aspx
Answer 2 :
You should have a little computer logo or picture on the bottom right hand corner of your screen. Right click it, and click "view avaliable networks" or something like it. It should show a list of networks, choose one of them, and you should be connected to the internet.
Answer 3 :
The question is... who's going to provide network connectivity to you? Just having a transceiver is no good if nobody else is providing a transmitter and connect you to the Internet! Having wifi but no access point nearby is having only half of the puzzle. Who would you pay to get the other half? Only the locals would know
